How can I embed Spanish at home with my children?
Your child’s language skills depend on exposure to the language therefore your child needs to be exposed as much at home as at nursery and there are plenty of opportunities to do this:
01
ALL screen time should be in Spanish – you can change the language on your child’s profile on Netflix and Disney+ to Spanish and this will allow them to watch their favourite programmes in Spanish. On YouTube search their favourite programme and “español” after it and it will bring you the Spanish version. Great YouTube resources included “Pica Pica”, “Juguetes felices”, “Pocoyo”, “Blippi en espanñol”, “Bebefinn en español”, “Super Simple Español”
02
ALL in-car music to be in Spanish – play our Spotify playlist! 🙂
03
As many books as you can in Spanish for bed time – click here for a list of our recommendations – a great list to share with family and friends for birthday and Christmas
04
Spanish toys and resources around the home – any Clementoni toys are with Spanish audio
05
Spanish labels around the home for pre-schoolers
